It’s been an overwhelming theme in my life, my writing and conversation lately that love should be the very center of who we are. Even last week, the verse Romans 12:9a “Love from the very center of who you are; don’t fake it,” seemed to pervade my every conversation and appear over and over in my blogging. And I thought, “As it should be.” This is what we should be running after…pursuing wholeheartedly…never giving up!
What a beautiful visible example of this God gave me last night. Jeff and I have had our eyes on those at LifeSong Lyman that “love from the very center of who they are.” How do we know who they are? Ask anyone, “Who/How did you come to visit LifeSong Church?” and more than likely one of these names have come up as being the one that invited them, OR watch close enough and you’ll see these people stepping up in their service, often thinking outside of the box in the ways they minister. As a result, massive amounts of lives are being changed because these have simply LOVED! Last night, we gathered around our living room with about 7 couples, and we heard how God has used LifeSong Church to show love to them, and in turn they canNOT keep it to themselves. It is what drives them! Lives changed with a desire to change lives. We get a front row seat to watch them be used, and what we see are lives in which we desire to invest because we see the difference they are already making.
Hebrews 10:24, 25 MSG says, “Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.” As my husband shared in his message yesterday, “Authentic relationships with Jesus Christ will give way to authentic relationships with one another.” Today, whose life are you loving, leading to change? Who is being a difference-maker in your life? The overwhelming thing that was shared as we went around the room last night was, “How can I keep this love I’ve been shown to myself?” It has changed me and I HAVE to pass it on to others!” Be the change to someone today! To you at LifeSong Church that are given over to loving others more than self, charge ahead! You are a living example of real community. Never give up!
