Disconnected…No Longer In Service

Ever had that in a fog, can’t seem to get in the game feeling?  Yes, that pretty much sums up my life as a Mom…just kidding! Seriously, though…it seems to sum up a lot of my life. We hear it all the time. “I’ve lost focus.” “I just can’t seem to get plugged in.” “I just don’t have my head and heart here anymore.”  We begin to feel that way, and we lose sight of how to even make it through a day.  We’ve allowed our days to be dictated by our mood, our attitude, or our lack of “want to”.  Over time, allowing ourselves to be taken over by circumstances or surroundings we look around and find that we don’t really have a single friend, we’re going through the motions, and the only reason we have a family is…well, they’re stuck with us!  I see this a lot in those I come in contact with when I tell them I’m a Pastor’s wife.  I hear the stories of how people have become disconnected from life…disconnected from a place to worship.  As a Christ-follower, our daily connection to God is so vital, for by it, we can still thrive when feelings of loneliness, isolation and disconnectedness set in.  When our focus remains on Him, we are no longer defined by what others are, or are NOT, giving us…or when those times creep in and we feel we just don’t want to live here anymore and want a change of scenery.  When our focus is fixed upon Him our present becomes something we can DO, rather than something we just tolerate.  We become useful to Him despite our disconnected-from-reality heart.  It’s within that initial reconnection to Christ that we begin to see our desire to be reconnected to other Christ-followers.  Is this you? Are you the one I so often hear say, “I just got disconnected from a local church”? Or, maybe you’re the one that is so unsettled you have disconnected from your present day life in general…you know, can’t seem to get it together? Either way, disconnectedness brings to light one thing – WE NEED ONE ANOTHER! 1 Thessalonians 5:11b says, “Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind.”  Disconnected people need other people when they’re just not feeling like doing life alone.  No one should take themselves out of the game, but we should all be doing whatever we can to never leave anyone behind.

At LifeSong, we do NOT want to leave anyone behind, feeling disconnected and alone.  We want you to know we have a place for you to belong and become.  We always say that, for some, Easter will be one of the few times within a year that they will attend a church.  And at LifeSong, we not only want this to be a time for you to come, but we want to show you a body of people that want an opportunity to love you and be the lifters of your arms when we just can’t do life alone.  We are not OK with this being the only time you come to church.  We want you to STAY! Would you be willing to pick one of our 5 services this weekend and let LifeSong love you and your family? Take your pick…Saturday, 5:30pm and 7pm OR Sunday, 8:30, 10 or 11:30AM.  Make the choice today to connect in.  We can’t wait to see you!
